Our solid cherry Burnette bed offers a classic spindle bed form with low profile and clean lines to reflect a modern minimalist sensibility. Product Details:
This bed is a platform bed that only requires a mattress. A foundation is not necessary. Platform consists of 20 hardwood slats on queen and kings. They are 2-1/4" wide by 3/4" thick. They are spaced 2" apart, separated by wood spacers. Distance measurement is consistent with major mattress warranty standards.
Please note that when your new cherry wood furniture arrives, it may be lighter in color than the wood shown in the accompanying photo. New cherry wood is initially a pale, straw color and gradually darkens to a beautiful amber over time with exposure to light.

A Standard bed frame typically comes with 3-5 "slats", or pieces of wood that lay across the side rails of the bed frame. These slats are designed to hold a traditional box spring, or foundation, which sits under a mattress to provide support.
A Platform bed has either plywood or sufficient slats running down the length of the bed frame to directly support a mattress without the need for a box spring.
Platform beds typically cost a little more than Standard ones, but they avoid the need to purchase a box spring and allow for a more modern, lower profile look.

Chilton offers nation-wide white glove delivery service, which means that your furniture will be carefully blanket wrapped, transported to your home, carried inside, and assembled, as needed. Your charge is a flat rate based upon delivery distance from Maine, and includes an unlimited number of pieces (a particularly good value for larger orders). For single item orders of smaller pieces, please call to inquire whether common carrier shipping is available.
